FILIPPOS KAMENOS

Filippos Kamenos has a degree from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and a postgraduate degree (LL.M) in European Legal Studies from the University of Glasgow.

 

In 2006, he joined Alecos Markides Law Firm as a trainee advocate and in 2007, he was admitted to the Cyprus Bar as a qualified lawyer.  

 

In 2011, Filippos Kamenos became a Partner of Markides, Markides & Co.

 

His main areas of practice include administrative, labour, civil law and associated litigation disputes. Filippos is handling a variety of administrative cases before all competent Courts and Tribunals in Cyprus, including the Supreme Court of Cyprus, the Administrative Court, the Tenders Review Authority, the Commission for the Protection of Competition, the Tax Tribunal, the Asylum Service and Refugee Reviewing Authority and the Ministry of Interior.

 

Filippos is the head of the Firm’s legal team advising a number of bodies including the Nicosia Racing Club (the only organisation in Cyprus authorised to organise horse races), the National Betting Authority of Cyprus, the  Builders’ Provident Fund (the biggest, in terms of members, provident fund in Cyprus). Filippos is also advising regularly trade unions and employers as regards their relationships, rights and responsibilities and he has participated in the successful negotiations for the drafting of collective agreements.

 

He speaks fluently Greek and English.
